Trisulti Charterhouse (Certosa di Trisulti)

It is always exciting to visit the Trisulti Charterhouse, as the cool and quiet spaces welcome all visitors. The sound of our footsteps echoes where a long time ago only the footsteps and chants of monks could be heard. Gravel crunches underfoot as we walk toward that fascinating body of water that is the fish pond. We hear the sound of the detached steps that provide access to the beautiful pharmacy where

figures from mythology, grotesque figures and monks from the past welcome us with all of the mysteries and wisdom that has always found a home here.

The church, on the other hand, receives us with the chirping of birds that occasionally flutter in the background of the splendid frescoed vault and we seem to see animations of the figures depicted there as if they were magical. The large canvases with human-sized personalities tell the stories of martyrs and miracles, and the wooden figures of the choir show us a fantasy world full of meaning. The sound of footsteps on the white stone makes us discover and imagine the silent life of the monks of centuries gone by, and all of our senses are on alert as we take it all in.
